White Peak Distillery's Wire Works range is one of the most respected in the English Whisky World. Since 2016, Max and Claire Vaughan and the team have obsessed over every stage of the whisky making process to produce a genuinely stunning range of whiskies. This trio of whiskies contains their permanently available range, which means that you can always come back for more... which you will absolutely want to!
Wire Works Caduro, 46.8%
A triple Gold award-winning English single malt whisky, lightly peated and blended from spirit rested in a range of bourbon barrels as well as White Peak Distillery's signature STR (Shaved, Toasted, Re-charred) French wine barriques.
Approachable yet complex, with a delicious flavour profile combining green apple, banana and candy cane on the nose, with citrus zest, cereal and tobacco on the palate, and a warm, spicy finish with good mouthfeel and a wisp of smoke.
3 x GOLD - 2025 Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition, 2023 IWSC + World Whisky Masters
Wire Works Bourbon Barrel, 53.4%
Wire Works Bourbon Barrel was the second addition to the distillery's core range, joining multi-award winner Wire Works Caduro. It was their first ex-bourbon barrel only full maturation, featuring some of the oldest casks in the warehouse.
Gold Medal - International Wine & Spirits Competition 2025
Judges comments: ‘Enticing, dense aromas of digestive biscuits and wood shavings blend with icing sugar. The palate offers a rich sweetness balanced by gentle peat and fruit notes, leading to a long, spicy finish of fruitcake and faint bonfire smoke.’
Wire Works Port Cask, 50.2% Alc.
The newest addition to the permanent range, this Port Cask release is a vatting of the distillery's core lightly-peated house style single malt spirit, aged in both fresh Tawny Port barriques, and first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a complex whisky with a rich oily texture and a bold, vibrant fruit profile both from the single malt spirit and the port oak.
Cinder toffee, demerara sugar, strawberry laces on the nose, with flavours of vanilla fudge, milk chocolate, marzipan, and cherry pie filling on the palate.
The focus on flavour and provenance means each spirit produced has been meticulously crafted, from the lightly-peated barley to the custom-built copper pot stills. Even the fresh brewers yeast is sourced weekly from the local Thornbridge Brewery.
White Peak, a Derbyshire distillery established in 2016 by Max and Claire Vaughan, crafts English whisky, rum, and gin. Situated at a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a former wire works near River Derwent: thus the Wire Works brand. Their on-site process, from mashing malt to slow fermentation, influenced by local yeast, creates a unique flavour profile.
