What does 'overproof' mean? In short: strong! There is debate about about what the threshold is, but a bit like Navy Gin (57% Alc. upwards) it's something similar. 60-70% Alc. is not unusual. Overproof rums are particularly effective with mixers where the strength often helps the rum flavours really punch through.
