Whittaker's Distillery make small-batch English whiskies using local barley and their own water spring. To date they have released two whiskies including their First Edition as well as an Ex-Pedro-Ximenez cask.

Where is Whittaker's Distillery based?

Whittaker's Distillery is based in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire, near Harrogate. The original distillery was an old 1950s pig shed which is still very much in use as the storage, bottling and labelling facility for their whiskies, gins and other spirits. All the distilling takes place in their purpose built distillery building which we opened to the public in August 2019.

Who owns Whittaker's Distillery?

Whittaker's Distillery is a family business run from the home of the owners Toby and Jane Whittaker at Harewell House Farm.

What kind of whiskies does Whittaker's distillery make?

Whittaker's whisky journey started in November 2019 which is when they laid down their first barrel of Single Malt English Whisky: the first ever Single Malt English Whisky produced in the Yorkshire Dales. The distillery casks are predominantly ex-Bourbon, ex-Sherry and ex-Rum.

Where does Whittaker's Distillery get its barley for use in their whiskies?

The barley is grown at the end of the river Nidd on a nearby family farm, Poplars Farm, Ferrensby owned by Andrew and Ione Cumming (née Whittaker).

Are Whittaker's products suitable for vegetarians, vegans or coeliacs?
