The first three whiskies released from the lost... and revived, London Distillery Company. Since its resurrection in 2024, the team have released these expressive and carefully crafted whiskies, each unique its own way.

Renascence
‘The Revival Release’ from the London Distillery Company was crafted from Plumage Archer heritage barley and matured in a combination of the distillery’s remaining refill barrels and 1st fill sherry casks. Bottled in April 2025.

To create Renascence, the Whisky Maker has selected a sympathetic combination of the remaining ‘legacy casks’ that were produced and laid down during the distillery’s original operating period of 2011-2020. The goal throughout the whisky making process was to remain entirely faithful to the original spirit style produced by the company before its untimely closure. A single malt that is unmistakably distinctive, deep and brimming with historical character. One of only 410 bottles released.

Embarque
This English Whisky is a sherry-forward tribute to London’s historic docks and the centuries-old trade that carried casks from Spain’s bodegas to the city’s bustling maritime heart – a celebration of the deep connection between casks and our capital.

Finished in exceptional oloroso sherry casks from Bodegas Barbadillo, it carries with it the character of both place and passage. A limited release of just 500 bottles.

The Golden Union
A tribute to the vibrant and rapidly evolving world of English whisky. Crafted with purpose and precision, each release in The Golden Union brings together malt whiskies from different English distilleries — highlighting the unique character of each component whilst creating something greater than the sum of its parts.

This first release unites malt whiskies from Adnams Distillery and The London Distillery Company, matured in a combination of hogsheads and barrels. It is a bold introduction – a marriage of heritage, innovation, and spirit character.

What's in the Set

Renascence

Single malt, 70cl

Built from Plumage Archer heritage barley and matured in a mix of the distillery's own refill barrels and first-fill sherry casks, then bottled in April 2025. We think it's the most historically faithful of the three: a single malt with real depth and dried fruit character, from a release of just 410 bottles.

Embarque

Single malt, 70cl

Finished in oloroso sherry casks from Bodegas Barbadillo, Embarque leans into dried fruit and spice; a tribute to the sherry trade that once moved through London's docks. Limited to 500 bottles.

The Golden Union

Blended malt, 70cl

The first release in an ongoing series, blending malt from Adnams with the London Distillery Company's own stock, matured in hogsheads and barrels. A useful point of comparison against the two single malts in this set.

About The London Distillery Company

The London Distillery Company was established in 2011 as London's first new whisky distillery in over a century, and was revived in 2024 after a period of closure. The current releases draw on both the legacy casks laid down during the distillery's original 2011 to 2020 run and new production, giving the range an unusually direct link to the capital's distilling history.

Understanding English Whisky

English whisky is a relatively young category: most modern English distilleries only began producing again in the 2000s, after a gap of more than a century. London itself only regained a working whisky distillery with the London Distillery Company's original 2011 launch. That short history is part of why small, limited releases like these are common across the category.
