Combining two polar opposite flavour profiles, Forbidden Fruit pairs the old rustic characters of Port with the vibrant exotic fruits of dessert wine and, in challenging traditional convention, takes you on a pioneering adventure into the unknown. 

Deep and intriguing, fragrant and fascinating, Turkish delight and sugared rose petals awakening the senses to reveal bold, stridently stewed peaches and apple pie, with hints of earthy cocoa beans and airy vanilla clotted cream.

Nose: Turkish delight, peach cobbler, rose petals, plum sauce
Palate: Sugared rose petals with fruit jam contrasted with vanilla cream and baking spices
Finish: Long with layers of complex fruits

The Whiskymaker’s Editions is a series of one-off releases showcasing the sense of adventure of our whiskymaker.  Each Edition is an exceptional diversion from The Lakes sherry-led house style; an expression of creative freedom, the product of a playground where instinct, experience and inspiration roam free.

Cumbria hosts the Lakes Distillery, founded in 2011 by Paul Currie, co-founder of Isle of Arran Distillery. Situated within a renovated farmstead by River Derwent in a national park, they innovate due to limited space, using custom stills for whisky and a smaller one for Lakes Gin/Vodka. Whisky master Dhavall Ghandi joined in 2016, infusing tradition with fresh inspiration. The Lakes introduced The Whiskymaker’s Reserve in 2019, a series of single malts. Located near Penrith, it's a gem of heritage and innovation.
