Cooper King Distillery New Make Malt Spirit, 50cl
Cooper King New Make Malt Spirit is basically a whisky before it is aged in wood, and officially becomes whisky (after 3 years and a day!). It is simply one of the best ways to experience the quality of a young spirit prior to ageing. Here are two ways you can enjoy this unusual spirit:
1). Compare it to the aged versions... i.e. the whiskies from the distillery.
What might you smell and taste in the New Make?
Sweet barley and fruit aromas, toffee pennies and a sumptuous maltiness in the mouth, with a long and rich finish.
2). Use it in cocktails, for example instead of rum, in a Daiquiri:
New Make Spirit 30ml (6 parts)
Lime Juice: 15ml (2 parts)
Simple Syrup: 7.5ml (1 part)
