New English Whiskies - JUST IN | Scilly Spirit | Retributon | Ad Gefrin | Whittaker's PX

Some weeks the influx of new English Whisky releases come thick and fast! Here are 3 new ones that have recently dropped into our warehouse (in a well-packaged and secure manner!)

Scilly Spirit Island Whisky, Batch 2, 70cl, 46.0% Alc.

A Single Grain, Single Cask small batch English Island Whisky. This is the second cask released - the first one sold out very quickly!

The whisky has matured in an oak ex-Bourbon Cask at 60% Alc. Once matured the strength was balanced out at 46% Alc. before bottling.

 Only 204 bottles were made, so if you want one, get in quick!

Retribution Distilling Single Malt English Whisky, 70cl, 53.3% Alc.

Made from the same new make spirit as their first release, Retribution Distilling's 2nd Release of their Single Malt whisky has been aged in an ex Buffalo Trace Bourbon quarter cask for 3 years 4 months.

Big notes of orange/citrus and vanilla on the nose with Retribution's characteristic thick creamy mouth feel with a slight warming pepperiness to the finish.

Alex's Tasting Note: Creme Brûlée and marshmallow on the nose with a hint of lime peel. Opens up to peaches and cream. There is a super attractive lemon sherbert freshness in the mouth balanced with gentle malt flavours. Very harmonious and smooth given the 53.3% strength. The whisky opens up further with water revealing more ripe green appley fruit, vanilla notes... toffee even, and a pinch of szechuan pepper. Very complex and moreish, especially given its age!

With only 170 bottles of this actually produced, this is very limited availability indeed.

Ad Gefrin Tácnbora Cognac Cask Whisky, 70cl, 58.6% Alc.

Tácnbora Cognac Cask Finish has been finished for six months in ex-Cognac oak  layering richness, structure, and subtle spice onto the original blend’s honeyed profile.
Bottled at 58.6% for balance and flavour. Very limited edition.

On the nose, notes of honey, raisins, sandlewood, tabacco, clover and custard are backed up on the palate with the flavours of fudge, raisins, apricots, resin and tobacco. The finish lingers and coats the mouth with the tastes of honey, sweet, gorse flowers and sawdust.

Whittaker's Ex-Pedro Ximenez Cask English Whisky, 70cl, 54.8%

This Ex-Pedro Ximenez 54.8% Alc. English Whisky Single Malt was released in April 2025 and is a marriage of two individual casks both made with Laureate barley.

This is a beautifully smooth full-bodied sherry aged whisky with lots of heavy fruits like Christmas pudding, figs and almonds.

Only 355 bottles made, so very limited availability.

Whittaker's use predominantly ex-Bourbon, ex-Sherry and ex-Rum casks, so look out for these different expressions. The distillery have new cask finishes in the pipeline so stay primed for more great options in the future. The climate in this part of the world is temperate, so, not only is it the best place to produce cattle and sheep, but it also happens to be excellent for maturing casks.
