Set in the heart of southwest Wiltshire in the historic village of Fonthill Bishop, the beautiful 9000 acre Fonthill Estate provides the ideal surroundings to make the finest English whiskies.
The distillery building is a Grade 2 listed barn dating back to the 1600’s. Beside it, a magnificent grain drying barn houses the visitor centre and shop.
The core ingredients used to produce their spirits are found right on their doorstep at Fonthill — the barley in the surrounding fields and the water from right under our feet. Traditional methods of malting the barley, almost exclusively by hand, are used at Britain’s oldest working malt house, established in 1855, located nearby at Warminster.
The distillery has only just started production in 2024 - their signature single malt will be a blend of casks, chosen to deliver consistent character and taste.
The broader range of whiskies on the roadmap includes single cask single malts, where the character and taste of each bottle will vary subtly with the cask it came from; double cask single malts where flavour profiles change with each bottling; and mixed grain whiskies, using malt, wheat and rye.
