After watching the series, David and his father decided to start making whisky themselves and built their own still in a shed at home. Impressed by the quality of the whisky they were able to create, they had a vision to build a full scale distillery.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eThey produce small batch, single malt whiskies including a smoky Islay-style and a smooth Speyside-style, as well as a Bourbon-style liquor made with 50% corn, and small-barrel Moonshine Straight whisky.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLocally born and bred in the Ribble Valley, Head Distiller David Moore has long held a passion for the area and the history associated with it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe distillery is a true family run venture. He wrote the books Historic Pubs of London and Historic Inns of England, the latter of which won the British Beer Writers' Guild Silver Tankard in 2000.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eRupert Wheeler\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003eRupert Wheeler has worked in publishing for over 30 years and was previously the managing editor for \u003cem\u003eWhisky Magazine\u003c\/em\u003e.
